Herati rugs take their name from the old persian city of Herat, in the east part of Iran. The new manufacturing of Herati rugs now is in Pakistan. They are made with the fine quality of wool, and sometime you can find some silk in the warp, they are closely woven. The Herati pattern is characterize by rosette enclose in elongated  serrated leaves, surrounding by diamond, or you can find a palm pattern. The motif is an all-over design. The colour you can generally find are dark blue or a dark wine red. These rugs are perfect to use in  a bright space or large living room, for make the atmosphere more welcoming.
